New L405

Just picked up the new 405 for a family member

Ordered British racing green, which seems to have now been dropped.

On the original spec it wasn't stated as 2 tone, but is heavily pearlescent, so looks blue and turquoise.

Any one else with the same colour.

Unsure if this is an error or standard

We thought it would be a simple metallic, not 2 tone.

Have the costly special paints which were available at launch been dropped? Seems unlikely so soon, but I don't see them on the RR configurator http://www.landrover.com/gb/en/lr/all-new-range-rover/build/ any more (or is this another feature of the "improved" configurator? Smile ) Norman

BTW: I did not know until I checked that "British Racing Green" is not a fixed colour, but can mean more or less any shade of green, including these odd new twin tones! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_racing_green). Norman

Seems that range rovers should have been a fixed metallic racing green.

Paint shop made it pearlescent which wasn't on any of the option lists for that colour.

Waiting to see what they have to say.

Will be an individual car now though.

The limited autobiography colours have been suspended for the time being.

RAL6005 British Racing Green or at least one interpretation of it. Seems there's been a few over the years.

Some vague recollection that this is due to the Japanese tsunami, since the paint is made there - or am I imagining that...? Norman
