United Kingdom 2014 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV6 Mariana Black
Help and advice from a new member.

Afternoon all! I'm a new member and am currently looking at a 2007 Vogue SE to replace my Audi S6. Here's the link to the car I'm interested in. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/adv...ars-EAF004

Seems to have all the extras and has been converted to an MY 2010 spec. I've spoken to Lee at Clarks Premier and they are a Peterborough based company who specialise in converting early models to current specs. This is his own car.

What are your views on this car? Do you think I will have any problems with it apart from notifying my Insurers of the modifications? Have any of you guys heard of Clarks Premier at all?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Lovely car - love all that black and black leather.

Why do people who do conversions have the same drive ways though?

I know Lee (not that well, but enough to chat to him if I bump into him) - he's good at the conversions and has been doing them for a long time and knows his FFRR's inside out.

Depends on your definition of 'own car' - Lee is more into the Sport than the FFRR - so doubt this is his daily runner - probably just means he bought it and converted it to sell rather than it being a customers car.

Lee has done 2 conversions for me - he put an Overfinch Aero kit on my last one and did a 2010 facelift on my current car.

I described the conversion as a bodykit to my insurers, it was the closest of their options.

To the OP,

Welcome. Great looking car. I have the black on black as well and love it. Yes, black shows the dirt on the outside, but hides it inside. Very Happy Sounds like the conversion was done by someone who knows what he's doing. Thumbs Up

Just remember, not everything has been " converted to MY2010 spec". You still have the smaller V8, nonLCD dash, etc. Don't let any of that worry you, just remember what's underneath. (2007 is a good year.)

Cheers for the kind comments guys.

Yep I should have said that it's just the exterior that has been brought up to 2010 spec. I'm not too sure about the brilliant silver front grill and side gills and might get them changed to the regular darker supercharged ones.

I've just spoken to Lee today and am heading dơn tomorrow to have a look. Fingers crossed everything should go ok.

Good luck! Don't be in too much of a hurry to change the grill. I thought I'd change mine (2008 NA) to an SC when I bought it. Now I quite like it the way is, which is both easier and cheaper. That strange grill you've got gets my vote. Personally, I quite like it.

Hope it turned out well - I would expect Lee would swap the grille for you - he does loads of conversions - so should be part of the deal to get that kind of thing sorted.

Might sound like a contradiction in terms but I think it's a bit "blingy" for me. I'd prefer the darker shadowed Supercharged grill. We'll see tomorrow. My friend is coming along with me to take some pictures too so I'll post them up tomorrow.

Went to view the car yesterday and was very happy with it so I put a deposit down and am due to collect the car next week. Just got to wait for some minor cosmetic work to be done to the rear bumper. Can't wait to collect now.

In the meantime, some pics:

And finally a sad picture of my trusty S6 which I'm getting rid of...

Really nice! Thumbs Up

But if you're going to miss the S6, I can't help feeling that a S/C would have been a better bet for you.

Then again, I've never driven a TDV8 or an S6 and have no means of comparison. But I do know that my S/C compares nicely, if still slower, to my E55 and both make a 3.0 SDV6 RR Sport feel very flat indeed. Si. <This is my name.

Cheers. I wasn't looking for all out speed and handling from my next car anyway. If I was, the RR wouldn't have made the list. I was just looking for something a little special and eyecatching. I'm also big on interiors and wanted something just as special and cosseting as my S6.

Well that's fine then. Thumbs Up

The black interior was my most-hated RR interior at one point in time. I thought it lacked imagination and flair after the brighter earlier interiors, but it's grown on me a lot and is a very classy and understated look to me now. The additional piano black that yours has enhances things further.

When you've time after collection, could you post pictures of your piano door window switch surrounds, especially the drivers one? Si. <This is my name.
