...am i being cynical thinking that a small update might sell some more units for storey...this could be an awesome tool but for the lack of support its not...just look at the IIDTool and the support we get on that. ... - .- -.

Hi Joe, We are a couple of months behind our originally planned schedule because this update was planned to be released before the IIDTool BT (bluetooth). The reason for all of this was the D4/RRS and front PDC in MYs 2010 and 11. We couldn't write to the cluster screen with the 2010/11 cluster sw and when the cluster sw was updated to later spec we were able to write but front PDC stopped working. We looked at various solutions but determined that, rather than spending weeks of valuable time trying to find a hack or work-around we would simply pull the development of the IIDTool BT ahead. We had just finished the IIDTool BT when LR released new update sw for the 2010/11 clusters that works with PDC. So the couple of month delay served to accelerate the BT development (which was done in record time, app&all) The 2.18 update is with betas and will be released to all in the coming weeks. I've said it before and I will say it again: Storey is a good guy. My personal involvement in all of this is a result of my involvement with Storey and a couple of other guys a number of years ago through RR.net when we all had P38 RRs. My idea was to get enough people together to create an open source LR diagnostic tool project and Storey and a couple of other guys were busy hacking the EAS - this resulted in the open source RR EAS reset project which is still logged on Sourceforge.net. As long as everyone is happy with what they have chosen as a product all is good. RRC 2Dr, RRC 4Dr, P38, and 2 L322s (wife thinks I'm nuts - prob right, too) |

Didn't really see it that way - just took the opportunity to explain what happened as many people have been waiting for 2.18... And took the opportunity to explain why it is that I think I can do just a little bit of character judgment on Storey. He is a good guy.
