Thinking of picking something up in Kilmarnock and bringing it south on Friday night but most route planners are saying I should head to glas on the m77 and then south on the M74 but it looks like I could cut cross country and save some time by using the A71 to starthaven and then drop onto the M74/M6 for the trip home but is it littered with little hamlets where you go from 60-30-60-30 all the time?

Suppose it's what you know Will with Motorways being 70 , coz the A76 out of Kilmarnock although going thru (Hamlets) if you don't know the road can sort of slow you down , but it is still a fast road in places …

The M6 at junction 44 going south is a favourite place for speed cameras on the overhead bridge.

Also just to add when you join the M77 in Glasgow keep it at 50 as it is teaming with unmarked patrol cars of all shapes and sizes. Last one I drove past pulling someone was an unmarked silver vw van! |
