I have an SDV8 and as it's the only one I've driven, could anyone confirm the engine noise behaviour? I can hear (albeit very muted) the 'diesel' nature of the engine during the first 2-3 gears (pulling away etc) then it disappears and is replaced by a wonderful V8 roar if you push on. I presume this is normal - the initial diesel sound? (I know, not very technical!)
I'm amazed at the amount of insulation in the car - I had the carpet up the other day and there isn't a square inch that isn't padded. If they can fit it in, they have! Love it.
Loving the car, just sublime. No issues to date.

I experienced the engine noise during the first 2/3 gears at the beginning but now it's much better (or maybe I've got used to it...)
Also, after having done over 5000 KM the consumption has dropped significantly.
