I think its real that plane is old and out of service I reckon its a PR type set up for advertising.

I think the aim of the PR campaign was to demonstrate the turning circle (can actually turn inside the plane and come out of the nose cone) as well as the traction/hill climbing mode.

Fairly Dramatic and makes good publicity.

It's probably the 747 at Dunsfold, where the Top Gear track is. The plane is used for films too including Bond! Heard a rumour that its supposed to be haunted, if you believe in all that Rolling Eyes

Agree with ajay and think its the 747 at dunsfold,

They have fully canibalised that plane over the past decade or so, wrong engines and a few other bits.

Has also been towed by a v10 tdi touareg..... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Dont see why landrover don't try it with an SDV6 engine in low range. It would be worth a punt just to show how good the new engine is for such minimal cost and show the L405 off even more.

im still not convinced that the new SSRR is worth the upgraded price tag TBH.

Probably why LR haven't spoken to me since as i was the ONLY one who actually owned a Rangey even close to what was there and gave it 4/5 Very Happy FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
Mantec Sump Guard, Rigid Load liner, MY10 BT upgrade.
