HI all,

Can the collective please give me their views on this 2006 Vogue? I made a quick enquiry reference Service history and it has been in the dealer service LR network with the exception of the last one in May 2013 (Evans Halshaw).

I have no idea if it is a facelift or stronger gearbox or what the spec is like.

PS: It is a 2006+ Facelift but will have the GM box as TD6.

No idea why you'd get a late model TD6 (even a nice one) when for a bit more you could get a V8 which is a much better car.

Also has the supercharged grill and rear lights.

This one has supercharged grille and rear lights (and engine)...

To be honest you could haggle a bit more off considering the time of year and climate for ones of that.
Bad luck as well, its in the higher tax band where as mine is £280 thats £490 a year!

It also appears to have the passenger side supercharged light and the correct one on the drivers side...

Strange indeed.

I'd take it for a drive but keep in mind its a bit stiffer than one wearing the correct 18" wheels as those 20" ones weren't available when it was launched so have been fitted afterwards and would be better sold on after getting a good set of 19" wheels.

Get the fluids flushed as well as part of it or after you buy it as i bet the coolant and brake fluid have never been done and with the thing doing so little miles i'd be wary about the gearbox fluid. Good news is getting a warranty on it shouldn't be too hard as its well under 100k miles
Boot straps will need replacing as pass side one seems missing and the drivers will have been taking the strain so needs doing as well.

Check the condition of the rest of the car as its strange to see one at a Pug dealership so must have been part ex'd against something quite highly priced from them like a 508 possibly Allure or GT spec i'd imagine.

All of this is IMO and as someone who owns one thats just under a year younger than that one as well

Personally I'd play hard ball and get another £1k off or all those bits done bar the wheels and either keep the wheels for summer or really swap them for ones like these
(ignore dirt and bottle jack!)

Useful stuff and I didn't notice the odd rear lights and also the non standard spec alloys. The car is on the other side of the country to me and a bit far to pop round, so my enquiry was a little speculative at this stage but i am trying to get a picture of what is out there and in budget. I did clock the £490 tax band, it missed the cut by about two months, it was registered 31 May 2006. I guess it must be a decent car to be kept by the Pug dealer, as opposed to be shifted on to auction. The chap said it came with a 12 month 'premium' warranty, which would set them back about £500 ( it cant be that premium at that price!)

I would find a petrol V8 a little hard to stomach in terms of mpg, but there is probably some logic in there somewhere!

BTW, what is standard spec on these? Xenons? electric seats> bluetooth?

I like the fact that this is at a LR dealer. Is there any issues with high miles in these? I have never owned a car with that kind of miles?

That one is about £1000 under CAP for a Vogue SE and although Blue is a good buy if its nice on inspection. £17500 would be a bargain with a good warranty

Also note that Stratstone has a policy of not discounting screen prices on RR. You will do well to 'knock anything off' but you might be able to negotiate some maintenance work that they would not routinely do before selling the car and/ or a free service(s); an extra 6 month warranty (always check how long the warranty is for and the level of cover being offered before you commit to buying); some accessories; etc

TDV8's are generally very reliable in the FF and only seem to suffer in the sports for some reason.

Thats a good price for that FF and miles but its the colour combo i think thats putting most off it

There are some rough ones for £15k that come up but search around and a good Vogue TDV8 can be had for £16k

The SE only really gives you RSE and fart distribution system TBH so unless you have a sweaty bum its not always worth it and some other bits im sure i have forgotten but not massively important  FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
