I'm fine with the process, just whether it's possible to access the connection on the strut before dropping it out. all will be revealed shortly, the struts are here, I'm knocking off work early (started early in anticipation!) and hope to have a boingy Rangie once again before the evening's out!

Safety above all, especially when you are mucking about with pressurized gas and fluids is a very smart approach. After that your biggest problem is rusted bolts/nuts on the front suspension. I hope that yours don't put up too much of a fight (like my rear suspension did).

Good luck !!!! MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

All done. We have a bouncy lifty Fatty once again. No dash errors, all working as Solihull intended.

Worst bit was getting the two leg bolts out. The nuts undid ok but all four bolts required SERIOUS persuasion with the biggest lump hammer I could swing in the wheel arch. They didn't really look corroded, and there was no spring weight on them but still....had to beat them all the way out. Wire brushed and copper greased for next time Wink

Thanks all for the help and suggestions. 209.99 each (Delphi) from Island seems to be about the cheapest going.

The stuff about the cross over valve pipes is also in my wiki post on front struts. Storey Wilson's video gets it wrong, but at least he puts up a caption to correct it Smile .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

Ah, that was what confused me - and the fact that the crossover valve on mine is not the same as the one in the video. Mine has a yellow, a blue and a black hose. Yellow = OSF, Black = NSF and Blue I presume is the feed.

Thanks all.

To be fair this is the first money (other than a service) I've had to spend on the car in 2 years, so I'm not unhappy with that really.

What's the issue with the Dunlops then? I fitted a pair in March from Island 4x4 and they're ok so far?

I went for the Delphis after reading around the web that the Dunlops don't last as long as you would expect them to - don't know if it's true or not but decided not to take the chance. On top of that Island only had the Delphis in stock anyway.
