Some lovely lanes around there, be aware that North Yorks County Council have said that all byways are NOT open to vehicular traffic. That being said, the bleakness will play in your favour.

I think Rudland rigg above Helmsley is still accessible to 4x4's these days . |

73vse.. that's what I was thinking of to be honest and going left to right across it as well. The left to right as you look at the map was in LRO a couple of months ago.

well a bit deflated as I didn't get time to go and play!!! by the time we had a wander in Pickering and let the dogs run about in Dalby Forest for a few hours, the sky didn't look too good and I was only going to go on my own if it was a really good day. Shame really as I had marked my maps up and was ready to go, but that's life always another day. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE
