Bmw software

I have just purchased a 2002 4.4 vogue and was wondering will the diagnostic software from bmw 5 series work or will it cause problems.
The first thing I want to do is activate lazy locking/unlocking.
Many thanks in advance

In theory - yes. The 02-04 RR is almost identical to an x5 of that era electrically, but most diagnostic sw capable of more than just generic OBD readings 'logs' on to the vehicle via the VIN (in order to know which configurations to look for) and would not know what to do with a RR chassis nr. Even with OEM BMW SW you need the versions for the L322 RR.
