New Exhaust for my 4.2 S/C

Lo Peeps

I am looking for ideas and opinions on a new exhaust Thumbs Up

Now I know there are peeps that will say that it is the wrong way to go and should leave the car the way it is but in my honest opinion I would really like it to sound my like the growl of a traditional V8.

Bearing in mind and I don't profess to know about which way to go with this as I don't really want to change anything on the engine side of things and not really looking for performance gains Exclamation

With all that said am looking for ideas of what is possible to make it growl like a V8 and a supplier and fitter that is in striking distance of Heathrow.

To be totally honest after spending more than anticipated on servicing , paint work among other things and I have to point out before anyone decides to jump on me for this comment I am totally responsible for what I ended up getting done on the car and the bill that I can only say I was not what I was anticipating having to pay out for the car but I can only blame myself for the total cost Exclamation

So If anyone can give me ideas , the possible costs , where to go to get it done and the possible options .... wether I can get away with just changing the back box or wether the cats need to be changed or whether I am looking at a complete system which if I was to be totally honest is probably out of reach price wise but worth a look at the possibilities.

Have already looked at this post and to be honest the price is out of reach and the changes to the engine not desired by myself but this is just a personal opinion and not wishing to cause offence Bow down

All comment and criticisms welcome Thumbs Up

Cheers

Dave

I have two good and trusted friends that run an exhaust fabrication business in Suffolk that can do whatever you want, but they're too far from you. However, I know you'd get exactly what you want.

I suggest you save up and get a proper job done on a custom system. There's no shortcuts to quality, I'm afraid. Si. <This is my name.

About 45% of the cost of mine was the specialist cats and the complete customness of the system. If you want a more V8 sound then get the backbox changed for two straight through mild steel ones from Longlife. Shouldn't cost more than £2-300 and will release the sound without any drone (although volume will be increased).

Alternatively you can get a cat-back system of varying quality from £5-800 although looking at some of the they will definitely drone. You could probably get something similar to my system without the cats for around £6-700 and it's loud on more than 30% throttle but very quiet on the motorway or pootling about.

Thanks for the comments guys , I really appreciate it but to be honest it is just an Idea I am playing around with I personally would like it to sound more like a V8 but in all honesty the wallet will probably stop it in its tracks Big Cry
