I've used three methods for avoiding paying for parking, and they're vehicule dependent.

A Paisley taxi driver was found to be tailgating the car in front whilst leaving the airport, security checked back and found he had been doing it for over a year and calculated he owed them £2k in parking... |

I almost always do pay. I don't think bikes should have to pay though, and I hate going to a shop, buy a load of stuff and then still be expected to pay for the parking. |

Many years ago, downtown Toronto sidewalks (=pavement, UK readers) were littered with new Ford cars, all with large 'quality is job #1' signs. I often thought that parking a new, clean Ford anywhere downtown, with one's own logo sign on top would probably work very well. well, except for the torture of having to drive a US Ford. I guess it's not worth it after all. |

one thing that has baffled me is why London doesnt have a 'park and ride'...from my direction you could park up near heston services M4 and then catch a tube into the centre, now this would relieve congestion.... ... - .- -.

They'd have to pay me lots more than £2 to spend 4 hours in Swindon. |
