2002 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Java Black
Gear selection

Hi folks.
I've got a strange problem on my TD6. it started when I had the gearbox reconned a while ago.
The issue is, when I try to move off, the gearlever springs out of the D position back to neutral. I have to change from N to D using a really positive movement to ensure it engages before I drive away.
The car drives perfectly but this is a really annoying problem.
I'm sure it will be an problem with the linkage. So, is this something that i would be able to see and is accessible from underneath?

Thanks.

Not sure about the GM td6 box, but the ZF one has a common fault where the linkage gets sticky. You can clean and grease it from under the car if you're not too portly.

Also please check if the cable is attached properly or needs adjustment. Suggest to also check on the inside of the car Smile

To me it sounds like the cable may not be inserted "all the way" into the bracket so it is a bit too long or short maybe ???? MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!
