Meant ask before how was the Maserati? I nearly bought a 3500GT not so long ago but never tested it. |

WHEN it worked, it was fantastic, the V8 burble on startup was fantastic, turbo lag was a bit tricky to control in the wet, especially if you went to overtake someone and it kicked down, (It was an auto) Generally the noise of it when you nail the throttle and get it up in the revs was unreal, there was endless ammounts of shove and it actually seemed to accelerate faster from 90mph onwards. Twin equal size turbo's meant the power was either on or off almost caugt me out changing from 2nd to 3rd going down a sliproad at 70mph, luckily the ASR kicked in and kept it in a straight line. It got loads of attention everywhere it went, was pretty comfortable too, better on fuel than the RR aswell. But it did have it's downside, and that was the electrics. In the 6 months I had it, I'd spent close to £2k in repairs for things like knock sensors, lambda sensors, (Ferrari ones being the cheapest ones I could find that were compatible), the horrendous drive by wire throttle body went away twice to get refurbished as they wear out amongst other things. But then, it wouldn't be Italian if it was reliable I'm not sure if I'd buy another mind, it's one of those cars where it's nice to say you've owned one. My dad giving it a couple of revs the day I brought it home from Belfast... 2006 Mercedes CLS 1991 Retro-style Mini But really finding it hard to fight the urge for a S/C... |
