Back in the Dealers...

The car has been booked in the diary for a while now to go back into the original Dealership (The one I have zero confidence in since they trashed all 4 alloys trying to fit tyres Censored ).

This time they are replacing the headlining (it had dropped at the rear and apparently was unrepairable) and once they'd had their dirty hands all over it, it looked attrocious. Evil or Very Mad

Let's hope they have the sense not to touch the new one with dirty hands, I am not holding my breath, I will eat something horrible if it comes back fixed and I'm happy with it. Shocked Discovery 4 HSE

Just to clarify, the headlining was not sagging, the rear clips had broken and its very hard to fix, if not impossible, they tried glueing it but it didn't work, let's hope their so called 'Technicians' can cope with this one....W@@@ers. Discovery 4 HSE

If you look up Technician in the Oxford English Dictionary it says:

" An uneducated semi skilled grease monkey who has received the minimum of training and only has a job because they are cheap. They don't care about their work or the end customer and would rather smoke a fag or steal small change from the glove box than actually learn how to fix something. They are never asked to repair anything, only to replace a part with a new one as that's as far as their brain can stretch. It is essential that they leave oily hand prints all over the inside of the car and never clean it before the car is returned to the customer. If they can also scratch the car or cause further damage and visits to the Dealership it is admired by their peers." Discovery 4 HSE

Unbelievable! Shocked

Called the Dealer just now, wanted to ensure that when the car comes back tonight that there is nothing I can get angry about i.e. no mucky hand prints on the nice new headlining and no loose trim parts.

"Ah, yes, we have a problem I was going to call you about"

Banging Head

Apparently they ordered the WRONG headlining. Censored The correct one is on back order and we've now got to wait till 5pm to find out when/if we can have one.....It might be 2 days, it might be 2 weeks. (Guess which one I am betting on)

This dealership are the biggest bunch of tools I have ever come across. HOW HARD CAN IT BE? This is just basic stuff, its no wonder they couldn't even fit a tyre without scratching and gouging the alloy wheel. I'm amazed they can dress themselves in the morning. Censored

In case anyone wants to know who they are I shall leave feedback in the dealership section so you can avoid them like the bubonic plague. Discovery 4 HSE

Just got an update: Big Cry

The back order for the headlining will not be in until 3rd week in April....apparently they don't get many requests for new headlinings. I told them it would be quicker to make one from scratch or take one off the production line.

So, they will put mine back together as best they can and then return it tomorrow. Why do I just know that it will come back with loose trim panels, dirty marks and lots of squeaks and rattles as a result of being f****d about with.

They are SUCH W*****s it makes my blood boil, they are spoiling what is supposed to be an exclusive car. Discovery 4 HSE

Hi RRUK, I feel your pain. I am very fussy when I get any job done. I believe that there is only one way to do a job. that is the right way. I have a guy over here in Cork he is ex land rover foreman mechanic. He is excellent. He is very thorough. I HATE incompetence and bad service. Can you not go to another dealership. It would save you allot of stress and disappointment. Evil or Very Mad

Boy, is that Censored service Adam!

You'd think that they would have removed your original headliner once they had posession of the new one! What a arsed about way of doing things.

Hey Adam, what's the chances of this incorrect headliner being leather, or even black velour? I'd check it out mate - you never know your luck Wink Java with Ivory 2006 4.2 Supercharged. 23.5k miles - NOW SOLD!

Jayzee, if I thought it was in the remotest possibility I would try for it but to be honest, I'd be happy if they just replaced with new same, and don't arse it up.

I tried to get Stratstone Nottingham to do this, I had to make about 15 phone calls from one dealer to the next, as they seemed incapable of talking to each other or reading emails. Long story short, the selling dealer in Solihull wouldn't pay for the labour charges @ nottingham, so in order to keep their costs down @ zero charge they insisted they did the work or not at all. I didn't have much choice. It really IS a last resort. Discovery 4 HSE
