Log Book Loans

Is there a guaranteed way to guard against a private seller selling a vehicle with an outstanding log book loan?

I've done a full HPI check, comes back clear (with exception of 1 plate change)

Seller is in possession of V5 in his name.

Anything else I should be doing to protect myself Sad

Check the date the V5c was issued as a new one could be a copy, second page bottom left. Otherwise the Log Book Lender will Keep the V5c.

Beware LOST & REPLACED V5c docs that have just been issued before sale Thumbs Up
