Well I've went and bought a defender
It's a 2008 black csw 7 seater puma 110.
It's getting boosts put on it and maybe the roof rack will come off.

It does need the boosts tho'. I found our puma so much more civilised than the TD5 and the warm up was so much quicker. I like the roof rack. I would buy some chequer plate for the sills.
Raised air intakes on the top of the wings look good I think. Got a photo of mine somewhere, I'll post it, not as chavvy as it sounds! Previously..

The modulars make it look 10 years older.
I need tyres for the boosts if you know of any for sale.

I've heard the raised air intakes will make it drop in power. I've been looking at the cooper tyres, undecided what to go for

I've been running Cooper STT's for 5 years and can't fault them. Still on my original set.

Snorkels - raised engine air intakes can reduce the air to the engine at high load. On my VNT equipped 300 Tdi, the snorkel is disconnected as the turbo needed far more air than the snorkel would allow. They look good, but be careful. I think in a non-tuned engine they're fine. I certainly had no problems with mine until I fitted the VNT. Si. <This is my name.

I'm going to sell the modulars with the kl71 kuhmo's that are in the picture, they are brand new.
I got the boosts with it but the tyres are for the bin. How much are the coopers in 235 85 16 ?

Craig I'm not sure about taking the roof rack off as it might leave marks on the gutter rails.
How much are you wanting for the boosts and tyres ?

Getting a defender for decent money is like hens teeth prices vary so much it's hard to value a defender.
It's nearly finished getting its paint detailing done.
Still to do list
Xs grills
New bumper
Clear indicators
Boost wheels
Paint chassis

Boosts - 5-spoke alloy wheel design fitted to many latest-issue Defenders.

Modulars - plain aftermarket dished steel wheel design. Those pictured on Brian's 110 are Modulars. They're cheap and prone to rust, but pretty strong.

VNT - Variable-Nozzle Turbo. Or variable-vane turbo. Common configuration fitted to 'modern' generation turbo engines which has replaced a fixed-impeller units, such as those fitted to old Defender Tdi / Td5 engines. They provide more boost as well. Benefits are far less turbo lag and a lot more torque. As an example, my standard Tdi turbo gave out 1 bar maximum boost. My VNT is tuned to provide 1.7 bar.

XS grille - a 'later' Defender grille design.

Brian, as you're talking accessories, have you considered the First Four bumper that looks standard, but is made from a much thicker powder-coated metal and has integrated fog lights and recovery hooks? Nice bit of kit! Si. <This is my name.

Not seen that bumper before, typical I've just ordered a standard one with end caps
