Hi guys whilst under the bonnet today I noticed a fluid/oil leak coming from the connection at the bottom of the part I have attached a photo of below (the part to the left of the power steering fluid resevoir closest to the front).

Does anyone know what this part is as I can't see any mention of it in the handbook? From the look of the fluid that has leaked out it looks like engine oil. Any advice on how to fix this issue will be greatly appreciated.

That unit looks like the vaporiser for your lpg system.
From what you have described it would seem that it is leaking the heavy oils/tars that you get from lpg. Even though it is a "clean" gas, lpg has a few contaminants in it resulting from its original source, oil from underground.
It could be leaking from a breather hole at the bottom of the vaporiser.
If that is the case, I would have thought that the diaphragm inside the vaporiser might be punctured/perished to allow this to happen. If that is the case, you might be leaking lpg to the atmosphere rather than where it is intended to go, into the engine as fuel.
Have you noticed any drop off in performance whilst running on lpg?
Have a look on internet with the make of your vaporiser, you should be able to find some diagrams for it, explaining how it works.

Looks to me like it is a weep on the oil filter housing or the pipes from the oil filter housing to the engine.

Hi guys thanks for the replies, it's not part of the LPG I have since discovered that part is the oil filter housing. Are leaks on this part common and how hard is it to replace the part? 2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 v8 LPG, Java Black, 22' Hawke Alloys, Black Beast

it could be residual oil from when it was last oil changed, ie when you lift out filter, its drips all over housing, thus runs down and hanging on the lower parts, i would clean it with some spirit, and kep an eye on it to let it reval itself at correct source. obviously keep an eye on sump level too. mine has weep leaks here also. where the pipes join the housing there are O rings i believe, clamped in and may have become dislodged and weeping. those would be quite easy to replace. and only pennies. the housing unbolts and becomes more manageable to turn over.
