Cheap AA Renewal

I came back from holiday to find the AA wanted £223.53 for my renewal premium. Shocked

I checked online and saw that I could get the same cover for £139 with the RAC.

I have been with both companies and have to say that I have had a good experience with both. I remember reading several complaints on here about RAC, so I would prefer to stay with the AA.

All it took was one quick phone call and the AA have matched the RAC quote. £90 saved from a 3 minute phone call! Very Happy

If you subscribe to Quidco (or any other cash back site) you can get up to £70 back sometimes. My last year's AA cover cost £28 after cash back.

My experience of the AA isn't good on the last 3 times I'e had to call them out. That's across 10 years, but twice last year.

First time they couldn't find a large BP garage / MB dealership on the outskirts of Bracknell. The chap went past us 3 times.

The second was their total ignorance of my diagnosis when my old D1 V8's clutch slave cylinder went. One call-out resulted in a very quick confirmation of my diagnosis over an hour earlier and then another hour to wait for the tow truck. Our daughter was 2 months old then and we had no milk for her. She wasn't that happy about it.

The third time was when my RR had a flat battery and I was told I didn't have Home Start. So I asked to upgrade then and there and they refused.

So I called out Green Flag instead (free membership with my personal bank account) and they've been much better with the RR and were pretty good when I blew a coolant hose on my 110. Si. <This is my name.

I eat rat poison.

A man ain't truly been insulted until he stands buck naked in front of a woman and she didn't even notice. Or care.

I have RAC cover as part of my Aviva car insurance (it's branded as Aviva Cover but it is in fact RAC) - may be worth checking if this works for anyone looking at renewing, seems to me like it is very good value. Nominally they say it is £55 as part of the cover. Norman
