Well after a mysterious 2 week factory delay. my car has arrived. Overall, having covered about 450 miles, the car is vastly better than my L322. I think the ride is far superior, the car really gives the impression it is gliding down the road. It is also more comfortable for me, seat/position wise and I like the extra seat functions / movement. So far I am getting around 42 mpg, which is quite amazing. (TDV6)
I went for Causeway which is a fantastic colour when in the light, a bit black in the dark. Vogue SE, so electric rear folding seats and the hidden electric towbar, panoramic roof etc. All fantastic and useful for me. Plus the Meridian standard 825w Audio system is the best i have ever had in a car and is far superior the the B&O system in my Audi and the HK 1200W system of my old L322.
Some not so good things..
LR are still around 3 years behind the rest of the market when in comes to the infotainment. The touchscreen is absolutely terrible, the resolution is appalling and considering LR want you to use the screen as the major vehicle interface, I think this is just not good enough. Apparently the dual view system limits resolution?
Whatever music is playing on the stored cd or ipod STILL doesn't come up in the centre display, only that you are currently listening to music from the selected device. One step forward I guess..
The rotary control knob seems to have gone down a notch in quality, not machined metal grip, just rubbery plastic.
Last moan.. the centre cubby box lid has been attacked by the accountants as it is absolute crap underneath and looks like it should be on a Renault. No gas lift or nice opening latch..
Other than that, it is excellent.
Images to come shortly.
