British Airways rant

Why is everything so bloody hard with them that is so simple with EasyJet ?

I can never figure out why I need to check in less than 24 hours ahead - with EasyJet I can print off my boarding passes months in advance.

I travel with just a small bag, so just want to turn up, go straight through security & get on the plane.

Tonight I tried to use the BA iPhone App - which promptly kicked me out mid way through checking in - so I go back in and it proudly tells me that I'm checked in and have printed my boarding pass, which I haven't.

To make matters worse, it's allocated me an awful seat - by a window, too far back, so I now need to wait for the world and his wife to finish faffing before I can get off.

So I rang up 'customer services' who are unable to help - I can only change seat at the airport now I've checked in Banging Head

Ho hum, at least I'll get a complementary thimble full of juice and a micro bag of nuts on the flight Rolling Eyes

I flew down to Heathrow on Sunday night. Checked in online, changed my seat from 13F!!!! to 3F, then printed off my boarding pass.

If you go on to the BA website and go to "manage my booking", use your reference number and surname you can reprint your boarding pass as many times as you like, but as you say, once you've picked your seat, you're stuck with it.

They still do a nice complimentary G&T! Thumbs Up

I've used the BA app a few times without any issues, so maybe you were just unlucky, or I was just lucky! Whistle Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

That's what I did last week - changed to 4D - front row of economy & in the aisle Thumbs Up

Tonight I didn't even get that far and it's dumped me in 16A Big Cry

Oh well - at least they fly at decent times of day (unlike EasyJet this year)

Not had any issues with the BA app. But I find the Lufthansa one better to use. Thumbs Up

I can't stand BA.

Always used to fly with them but not any more due to grumpy staff and bad service.

They had it too good for too long and are still resting on their laurels. Too many staff with their noses higher in the air than Concorde so now I fly Virgin where possible.

I would prefer to fly Virgin too, but since they chose to start their new service from Edinburgh, we're stuck with BA in Glasgow! Censored Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Won't touch BA unless absolutely no choice, bottom of my list after Ryanair! My long haul is with Emirates, Qatar and Etihad. For those trips in the other direction Lufthansa, TAM and then the Americans before BA. Terrible ageing aircraft and arrogant staff. Rant over. 2019 D5 HSE Lux SDV6 Indus

I always prefer ba and Virgin but will never fly AA again after the Censored flight on a 757 last week Sad

I don't mind the 24hr check in an the other gubbins, prices aren't too bad either, cheaper than the rest by a decent margin.

Delta aren't too bad but the ba app has never given me issues until AA became involved in sharing some flights and it was by far the worst experience even. Rubbish sets, staff wearing different outfits, one landing set sounded truly horrible in motion and I actually sat and wondered if I was on the oldest bird in their fleet. Food was well below acceptable for flight food.

I will never ever touch AA again, even in business class!

I've flown on BA and aer lingus for 25+ yrs and never had a problem that they didn't bend over to fix Smile

Now the bloody flight is delayed Censored

Give me EasyJet every time for short haul.

I've had bad experiences with most airlines - I flew Virgin Upper last year - they sent a car to pick me up in NY to NewRk Airport - got there to be told there was a 12 hour delay - the plane was just leaving London !!!!!
The check on lady seemed surprised that I expected them to tell me before sending a car - why the Censored anyone would want to spend the evening in Manhattan than at Newark airport seemed completely lost on her.
