Personally I would be worried about why it's needed all this doing! It means its either Been ragged or neglected IMHO.

how about this?

Go & have a look if this is your first likeable car, then look at some more. TBH don't be put off by spending on parts, if I had to list what's been done to mine, it would be a longer list than that. Although @£9k does seem to be somewhat ambitious, I would be asking about the ignition barrel, definately get it HPI'd if you are serious about it. Rember you could get one way cheaper that this , spend a couple of quid on it to get it looking better than this one!

Thanks for the opinions, to be honest I wasn't looking to buy one just yet however the turbo has blown on our Grand Scenic and it not economical to repair. I have been looking at various options including RRS, I'm not too keen on the look of the all black one but things can be changed to make it more stock like. My main concern is getting a car that is good value here and will be suitable to take to Australia in about 18 months.

The budget in August was going to be about 15-17k but with the current car going west the plans are having to change.

The other option I looked at was getting a freelander for 6 months, in the region of 2-3K and then upgrading

I remember a recent post on here of someone moving to Oz as well. Cost of import is high apparently, so better check before you get reamed by the ATO.

On the car, not sure, I guess you'd just have to have a very good look at it. The list of work done on mine is also quite long with some high cost items in there (AC, front struts, transmission cooler).

If you like the car, have a gooooood look at it and maybe even a full inspection. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Cost of import is high but the cost of cars in Australia is higher (in general), a 2003 FFRR TD6 can go for up to £20K based on today's exchange rate.

I'm edging on the side of caution and may wait a little longer for something else to come up, maybe through the forum, might just have to cope without a car for a while

A lot in the description which always makes me suspicious. Plus the guy doesn't have 100% feedback.

If the guy knows the price to correct the faults why hasn't he had it done as he's had all the rest sorted.

Ignition key sounds odd as you don't just lose 2 sets of car keys.

If its local why not go and see it you've nothing to lose.

At 119,000 miles my concern would be that there is no mention of the gearbox.
Could be a good one, could have been replaced or could be about to cause problems.
Just my cautious self. Thumbs Up

I believe that colour is called Cairns blue so if that is where you are moving, then this is the one for you Wink

I love that colour (same as Gaz has on his latest one), hate the seat colour though Sad

And Range Rovers seem to be super scarce in Oz. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

My head is hurting looking at cars, its not ideal to trying to find a car when you no longer have one because its gone west, it definitely clouding my judgement.

Someone needs to tell Gaz that as he is "advertising" his as Cairns. Very mean of him though to put that car on his website and then say it is not for sale Evil or Very Mad MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
