perroverde - Congratulations on a superb looking car. What was involved in the refurbishment ? sills, rear crossmember etc, I presume ?

Thanks guys, I'm pretty chuffed with it to be honest. I had planned to sell it on but we decided it's so nice we'll keep it after all (with apologies to the person on here who wanted to buy it!). It was in pretty good condition underneath but had been unloved for a long time and looked pretty sorry for itself. Biggest problem was removal of the bullbar and aux lights which had literally rotted on, and we couldn't find any covers for the unsightly crush cans up front for love nor money, until DavidP kindly came to the rescue by donating some he had lying around in his garage (and the RNLI are a few quid better off as a result!).
Funnily enough it was me who bought that. The old guy who looks after my grounds, dogs etc has decided he loves the blue one and wants one too so I've bought it for him. Feeling brave now we've had the learning curve experience of the blue one to venture on to another one, I liked the fact it had low miles, is an 'N' reg. The interior is like new, the chassis and underbonnet are very sound, the oily bits all good. However the paint is completely shot and yes, it needs a new cross member and sill. Don't they all...?! |
