does it drop the amount of engine revs that you have to do to cruise on the motorway at 80 mph? so the car becomes quieter?

Had mine (TDV8) modified last year by JE. The care felt totally different afterwards, a lot smoother and gearbox doesn't drop down a gear as often. Makes towing my large twin axles caravan a breeze.

Might not drop the revs, but might reduce the noise a little or increase MPG as it'll change the fuel/air mixtures and potentially use less fuel.

The upgrade Improves the torque at lower revs so the gearbox doesn't need to change down as often when you press on the loud pedal. The gearbox ecu takes multiple feeds, not just speed and revs is my understanding.

so it would sound l / feel like its not straining at the top end?

save your money Andy, i wish i did...my remap was a waste of time but removing the egr valve and blanking it was a good move and cheaper as well...

your td6 should cruise at 80mph with not much strain on the engine.. ... - .- -.

@Andy, the egr blanking helps by having cool air going into the combustion area which helps with mpg and smoother running ...i did it quite easily.. ... - .- -.

so you had the JE remap for the FFRR? Complete waste of money? are their claims false about the increase in power and torque?

Just get yourself over to Coventry and hang around for an hour.

One of the best mods you can do.

Don't think Stan went to JE.

EGR removal is quick and easy, well worth it, as not only is the air cooler going into the engine, but all the soot and black carbon sludge should stop building up in the intake pipes. Kit to do it is relatively cheap too.

I have a K&N air filter fitted, but may remove it, solely down to extra intake noise when accelerating.

Your TDV8 may be a different engine to mine, but the physics are still the same.

Regarding TD6 chipping ...

I recently bought Benjj's old TD6, which had to have a new engine and turbo 4 months after he had it chipped (chip was done at 102k, engine went bang at 106k

Might have been a coincidence .... but then again, he didn't have the replacement chipped. My plan was idiot-proof ...
