Thanks for the input, all. I've only had my Range less than a year, so I can't imagine ever giving it up. Maybe after a few years, a facelift will give me a new car all over again.

I get the feeling speaking to non rangie owners, that its actually only us who have a clue about what year/model/front end/screen/lights apply to which year.

Yep, have to say the facelifts look pretty good. The whole treatment just updates the look again. A while since the new Range came out and I still think the L322 4.4 TDV8 is the pick of them all. Lloyd Barnes

Aesthetics aside, I am looking into this, but questioning the economics of it. I am looking at a £20K TDV8. By the time I have done a full 2010 conversion (with wheels), it will stand me in at least £25K, probably more. I have seen 2010 MY cars for as low as £28K…

If you can get a newer one for not much more than i would go for it as the interior facelift will help as well and is a nicer place as well as the years go on.

It's your car, do what you want.
I would NEVER buy a vehicle like this. OK, I'd buy a 2005 RR that had been "facelifted" to a 2010 for $100. For every one that is done right, there's 1,000 that are screwed up in some way or another. Jim 2000 NAS HSE 2005 NAS HSE |

I think it's funny that "fanny" means something completely different in British English slang than it does in American English slang. "England and America; 2 countries separated by a common language." Jim 2000 NAS HSE 2005 NAS HSE |

Soooo true. Most will recognize a RR, but the majority will equate a clean 02 with a 2010>. And the large majority of people who know the exterior differences will know the interior differences as well - so if you are trying to pass of an earlier RR as a later, don't ever leave the car parked anywhere - don't even stop moving or someone might get a look at the interior. That said, I prefer the later lights now too. And I am all for modding cars. I have never owned a car that has remained the way it came from the factory. I do this primarily for my own enjoyment but if others take a second look I am not going to be unhappy. I didn't choose my wife to impress others either, but it can make me crack a smug smile if I notice a head or two turning. My 02 TD6 has a 06-09 facelift for 3 reasons: - I got a terrific deal on a very clean RR - with slight front end damage: 1 light, grill and bumper + minnor bonnet damage. - I much prefer the later, smaller lights - Used 06-09 lights were available on ebay for ~€50 because of cornering light problems and used grills were available for around the same price because everyone was going to SC bits. If the stars align similarly again (TD6 is approaching 300k kms), I may have myself an earlier L322 with 2010 lights. Because I like it. (very pretty RR, Gaz) RRC 2Dr, RRC 4Dr, P38, and 2 L322s (wife thinks I'm nuts - prob right, too) |
