changing a battery

does anyone know if the battery comes out without having to put the bonnet into service mode?

No, you need service mode

i doubt it Andy, putting the bonnet into service mode is very easy.. ... - .- -.

do you need to take off the windscreen washer hoses or can i just put it straight up?

I changed my battery without putting the bonnet in to service mode without any problem at all.
Tied the various cables and pipes out of the way.
2 minute job.
The taller you are may be a factor.

Just put the cables apart and hope that your gym hard work pays off. MML

Correct its about a 2min job, the longer you have the car, the easier its gets
