2010 Bumper trim. Easy DIY job?

My facelifted '59 plate RR doesnt have the silver horizontal trim on the lower front bumper, nor the same finish around the foglights. (mine are black).

Im going to ring my MD for the part no. and a price but thought I'd ask here to find out if anyone had done this job and how easy / difficult it was to swap them over.

I assume they just unclip?

Thanks in advance.

Update:

I've spoke to my MD and have prices of £37.60ea for the fog light surrounds in silver, and £53.00 for the horizontal trim in silver.

Although, he tells me that even though my RR is the latest facelifted shape ('59 2009MY) the silver trims were not introduced until 2010MY and the bumpers are slightly different... Basically he is unsure whether or not they would fit.

Does anyone on here know if they would fit or not?

Going to fit mine this weekend so I can let you know on Monday but all parts are clip on - no screws. Dan from duckworth can definitely do better than those prices - just got mine last week for less than that with free delivery Thumbs Up 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

First I've heard of them...

found the bits I need, unfortunately they are more expensive than LR for the horizontal trim, cheaper for the fog lights though... They still say at the bottom of each page that they dont fit 2009 MY - but its unclear if they mean pre-facelift or if they also mean the early facelifted RR's aswell... Can give thme a call I guess.

£75 for the horizontal trim (LR £53)

Yeah if you could update on monday how you got on that would be great, thanks.

Once I've got round the bumper / model year issue on mine I will be ordering some as they look much better than all black.

I'll give duckworths a try too. Thanks.

I was just tpying an enquiry on your website but you beat me to it!

Do you have any ideas as how I can find out for definate? One option is to drive to my local dealership and park next to a 2010MY and compare. Doesn't help is the differences are out of sight mind you.

I assume you have the LR parts catalogue there... is it possible you could compare the two MY's on screen to see if there are any obvious differences?

I can see the way this is going, so might have to either put up with black or look into getting them sprayed to match OEM as close as possible.

Thanks

Mick (Joker) did this to his car and I'm pretty sure his is a late 2009 registered 2010MY. I'm sure he will be along shortly to confirm, especially what a pain it is to remove the old black horizontal trim Shocked

Assuming your definition of a "face lifted" 59 plate car is that yours has the TFT screen, DAB etc. which makes it a 2010MY I can't see it being a problem.

Dan is definitely "your man" genuine LR products at a very competitive price Thumbs Up

Yes mine has the TFT screen, DAB etc. Basically its the same as your RR. I have been looking at photos of different Facelifted cars and I cant see any difference in the front bumpers.

I might just order the parts and be done with it.

The front splitter bar is a PITA to take off best to have a mate with you to unclip this as to help with the tension as you will need fingertips like Arnold Sweatshisknickers bear in mind these splitter bars are prone to breaking when taking off.

As to the fog surrounds these are a two minute job on each side , best not to follow any diagrams or YouTube videos , easiest way to take these off is when you have the replacement surround , line the correct side up with the one you are taking off have a long thin flat headed screwdriver pass it the the small hole next to where the plastic clip is as seen on your new one just slightly prise aside and the same with the other side and it will come out in your hand , then just replace the new one by pressing in .

Mind the surrounds are sided Thumbs Up ====================================

Did mine on the weekend, as Mick says the fog lamp covers just unclip, 2 minute job each side but the splitter is a major PITA, I tried to remove mine without damaging it but gave up after 10 mins and broke it off, not sure what I would have done with the old one other than put it in the garage incase I ever wanted to swap back. If you dont want to keep the old splitter that too would be a quick 2-3 minute job. If you have access to a warm garage that would probably help in removing the splitter. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

Bit of a thread revival here. I've eventually got round to buying the fog lamp surrounds and lower silver trim.

The fog lights were a quick swap over but I am well and truly stuck at getting the horizontal trim off... I'm not fussed about breaking the old one getting it off but I still can't seem to make it move even slightly... I can feel the clips from the other side but holding one down at a time makes no difference!

Any advice would be great thanks.
