2010 Splash Screen for touch screen (Denso) nav?

Anyone know if it's possible to tweak the firmware so that you get the nice new Range Rover splash page on start up...you know this one...on the Denso touch screen navigation?

I know it can be done on the BMW system (as the above shows).

Would be kinda neat...

Sounds like a challenge!

If the splash screen image is driven off the disc then it's definitely hackable - it would "just" mean opening up the source files and replacing the image file.

Same should be true of the POIs.

It would require someone smarter than myself, but as I always tell my customers (I'm in software sales) "Given enough time and money, anything's possible...it's only software...!"

I guess the sheer number of BM's that had the same system as the mid-2000s cars meant there was more profit and hence made the effort more lucrative. Now that newer models dont use that system any more, the pool of customers has diminished to the point where nobody feels the efforts is worthwhile? Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
Had- 2008 TDV8 Vogue SE in Java black
Had - 2007 S/C in Stornoway Grey

Presumably easy enough to find out if the disk drives the image by removing the nav disk and turning the head unit on? There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Its part of the Firmware IIRC.

As per the Nav on the move as well im guessing it would require a reload of the full firmware.

From what i've read on the BBS forums this is a VERY long process as the touchscreen unit slows the connection down Sad

If its possible them the firmware would need ripping apart but as Navteq code it, then denso bundle it with an LR badge its not going to be easy unless you know what programming language its in and know someone who is good with that language Sad FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
