Doesn't sound right, but you have to allow a 10mm tolerance, the car won't or can't be made to adjust within that range. The IID tool won't fix this either, unless you get everything lined up at a lower height. So side to side you are within tolerance levels but overall hieghts do appear to be wrong.

Wheel size doesn't make any difference (given you have the correct tyres on) but my table above shows how to assess heights from different rims as opposed to the rather crude measurement from the wheel centre.

The heights are in the Owners Handbook so take that along with a tape measure to your Indie Twisted Evil .

Spoke to the Indy and he said he would have a word with the mechanic and call me back, I phoned another la d rover specialist in the meantime who said he would charge £55 for a diagnostic (even though I just want a recalibration) then they would go from there as there may be another fault causing it, for crying out loud is it really that difficult to set the car at the correct height!

Well my Indy has just rang me back and said that its at the correct height and the reason it's sitting lower is because I have 20" alloys on it and they didn't come from the factory with 20" wheels, honestly who's he kidding! I served my time at the main dealer and worked with him so its making it awkward questioning him, not sure what to do, he reckons the only solution is going back to 19" wheels? Surely you can just enter a different value?

I'm no expert here and I;m not sure if wheel size makes a difference. I would have thought the rolling circumference would be the key rather than the rim size personally.

BUT - I have the IID tool and (within reason) can set all of the parameters together or individually to what I want. I could have front sit lower or left sit lower (if I really wanted to.!)

I've lowered access height by 15mm to make getting in/out easier.

You could do worse than buy yourself an IID tool and then you can set it at whatever you like. (plus you get the bonus of controlling other features of the car as well for probably not far off what the dealer would charge to diagnose and calibrate one time) Ash

Bit of advice please guys, just been down to see the Indy and explained that its only sitting 1cm above access height at normal road height, he said he has programmed it to 20" wheels and that's the being it comes out at, he said its because my 2003 td6 shouldn't be on 20" wheels, is that correct because I'm sure they can, he said pop it down on the morning and he will have a play with it, he said he will try setting it to 19" wheels as it was ok before, he is using autologic diagnostics, anybody else used this to recalibrate and what will work, please if anyone can help as I'm sick of it looking like its been lowered now Sad

Its easy I think you just need a new indy or even pay a Main Dealer should not be more than 30 minutes labour.

PS: My Indy KLLR can set my cars to whatever height I want within minutes using Autologic. For instance when I put oversize tyres on a D3 Offroader I upped the standard ride height by 50mm. Easy Peasy they are thick or bullshitting you.

Well another specialist won't just do the recalibration without charging me £60 first to do a diagnostic but iv got a friend who works at landrover with the snap on diagnostics and he reckons he can recalibrate it but not till next week. If my Indy is just putting 20" wheels in on autologic is there anything else he can do? Seems strange that its setting it so low? Anybody use the autologic?

I am not quite sure, but I do not believe you can recalibrate the EAS with the Snap-On system.

I am also unfamiliar with the Autologic procedure for re-calibration, but the wheel diameter (or even tire diameter with oversized tires) should not affect the calibration as the measurement normally used - wheel center to wheel arch - always remains the same. Obviously if the measurement is taken from the ground overall wheel/tire diameter will be a factor.

Any dealer should be able to help you - and the indy should as well. Even with 24" wheels.
