Saxton 4x4

Hi there - in my hunt for a FF I have come across one in budget at Saxton 4x4 - does anyone have any feedback about these guys at all? I have read the reviews online which aren't the best - but just wanted to see if anyone from the forum had personal dealings or experience.

Many thanks Very Happy

They usually have a good stock, so maybe a good place to compare colours and trims to figure out exactly what you want, but doesn't sound like the best place to buy from.....

I also have a friend who bought one from Saxtons, he got down the road and the air suspension deflated. He took it back. They got it working but the after-sales service was appalling he said. Discovery 4 HSE

Thank you for everyone's replies.

I can relate to some of the Internet feedback on Saxton as I have already experienced that. On the flip side when I went there this weekend the place was heaving with buyers, and a quick check on Companies House shows they sold £13m of product last year.

I have never felt so stuck because they do have the ideal vehicle I want!

Has anyone every had any experience with an AA inspection? I am thinking that it may be worth the £350 to get the RR thoroughly checked over - I hear what people are saying about customer service at Saxtons but if the RR is ok then I wouldn't ever have to deal with them again! Thumbs Up

Been lurking for a while whith not much to say. I hear what you say about Saxton's and I find myself looking at their cars for a possible replacement but then read this again to remind me it's not worth it.

How specific is the model you are after - is it colour combination, miles, age?

Reading the Saxton reviews I cannot understand why the cars were not covered by a warranty (which any dealer/trader must offer at least 3 months) unless they are self-warrantying their cars (which I think is often cause for concern)?

It's age - colour - mileage is a little higher than I wanted - but the spec is great - I cannot find anything around the same price in the market at the moment.

Saxtons actually rang me today to see if there was anything further they can help with, of if I would like to look at any other RR's

My tuppence worth, again Laughing

The 3 month Warranty will have a £ limit on it, and if its anything like mine it was a few hundred quid , on a FFRR that won't cover a serious defect, and that's assuming the firm paid out. So don't rely on it as a safety net

You would have to go through service history and all paperwork , V5 etc meticulously. My brother in law fell for their sales patter , and committed to the purchase and service history never turned up!

An inspection is a great idea, quite often used as a bargaining tool to either get work done, or money off.... Good luck with that... Arrogant Censored will probably tell you to get on your bike as they can sell it to someone else

I just get the impression they Hoover up all the cheap & nasty cars from auctions and finance claw backs that no reputable dealer would want, hence the huge stock Alcohol and eBay is never a good mix
