Key battery low?

We have 2 keys for our car, now and again they pop up saying key battery low, my indy changed the battery in my wife's key a couple of weeks ago but yesterday she couldn't lock the car with them remote, any ideas?

Sounds like its lost its sync. Get in car close the door, put key in ignitionand turn on dash(dont start it) turn off and hold key up by mirror, with your finger on the lock button start counting ,when you get to ten, press unlock three times, you will then hear your central locking click and its job done. (i hope)

Cheers Piers.

Now the wife's key is working and mine won't lock or unlock the car so I assume its not the keys, I mentioned it to my Indy and he said its usually the receiver in the car and it can be a pig to diagnose, hardly suprising, it's a range rover, anyone had similar problems? Also the car didn't lock itself as I set off as it usually does, I assume its related, it's like the car can only accept one key to lock/unlock at a time :s

Have a look at BL's post about being locked out and make sure 100% that your mechanical door lock works!!

It sounds like one key has become unsynched and you need to get both resynched again but why only one has gone awol is strange.. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Both keys work manually in the door, foray it was my wife's key that was not locking the car remotely and now hers is working fine mine won't unlock or lock the car remotely, I'm going to try re syncing them when my wife gets home and see if that works, I wonder if being in the garage with all the other landrovers has messed something up because I can't think of anything else lol

Just been out to the car and re synchronised both keys and now they both work, I'll report back if I have any furthur problems, it didn't work using piersies routine above as that's the wrong way round but thanks for the help, to do it you have to
1. Insert key in ignition and turn to position 2 then remove key (within 5 seconds )
2. Hold the unlock button for no longer than 15 seconds, whilst holding the unlock button press the lock button 3 times, release both buttons and the central locking will lock and unlock the doors to confirm it has worked.
3. To do another key, repeat step 2 with the second key

Are the fobs cold, or warm? If they are cold this could generate the key battery low message and cause the problem? .

Replace the battery in both fobs but remember to press the buttons on each fob when battery is out to remove residual charge at least thats what I was told to do and it worked.
