Buying from auction ...

Has anyone bought from auction recently ?

What are prices like ... I'm looking for something 2 - 4 years old (A4 Avant / 330 Touring, etc )

Can you really make a saving over private sale price ?

My nearest auction is BCA Brighouse.

I was buying cars for a mate last year at auction, then the particular model I was buying dried up and I started looking at local showrooms and discovered that I could buy them cheaper from them on a Friday lunchtime Thumbs Up

Scotland 2017 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Loire Blue

Been to a few auctions and it seems that people get caught up in "auction fever", a bit like on E-Bay, making what could be a bargain actually end up costing more than buying elsewhere. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
Had- 2008 TDV8 Vogue SE in Java black
Had - 2007 S/C in Stornoway Grey

Daytime ones are best as there will be more sensible heads around, IE trade.

Don't forget though that auction is often seen as a quick way to get rid of cars by dealers.

Unless they are good enough for them to sell themselves they will usually end up there unless its a fleet disposal of some kind at which point treat it as you would any rental car.

Some places are very strict and you only get to look around the outside of the car. Others will sometimes let you have a quick poke about inside and under the bonnet but not often. Buyer beware really as its a big gamble.. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
