Everyone who owns a FFRR should check the key opens the door, it's a 10 minute job to fix it if it doesn't

Job done

Update.

Tried everything still could not get into car.

I also read the thread that Stan sent - great but does not give me a solution so phoned the breakdown people (thank goodness for home start)

Young guy turned up and I asked him if he had a secret way of getting into the car He didn't know of any way so he proceeded to jack open the drivers side windo to get a rod onto the bonnet release handle. his rods were not long enough so he phoned his mate.
Old boy turns up never mind about that jacking sh**t Said he and within 5min had the tailgate open. Job done.

Funny thing ....... I bet all the criminals know how to get in.

Now I need to find out why my battery keeps going flat - somehow I think this job is going to take longer than 5 mins. The joy the joys.

Regards Graham

Wonder if the trick has to do with the latching mechanism or the lower tailgate button.........................

I may give it a try when I get the FFRR going again Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Not only criminals have worked out how to to release the rear tailgate when the car is locked with a flat battery and the drivers door lock inoperative. Wink

I'm glad my door lock is working still (despite the fact it is going to be covered soon with my much nice looking handle covers). MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
