We tried to fill it up and the pressure of the system was perfect and the compressor engaged as well. That is why I need to talk to an experienced AC person to see what else I can test before I do another full replacement. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

if air has got into the system through a leak then it needs to have the system 'purged' and refilled with gas..

You should never 'top up' the gas. It should be vacuumed out and then re-charged |

Sounds like a control problem with possibly a component failure rather then the "whole" system failing. |

I am currently printing the workshop manual of the 2002-2005 system, hoping it is similar/same to the MY2006 system. Tonight I will hook up the Faultmate and see if I can find any issues/faults in the ECU.

The other thing I noticed is that the air from the vents is "warm-ish" not as cool as the morning air coming in through the window. Which doesn't make a lot of sense to me either. I didn't notice any condensation underneath the car but that is because I only ran it for a few minutes while we were "testing". MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

if you have warm air coming from the vents it does suggest that there is low or no gas in the system, is there any visible damage on the condenser.. ... - .- -.

We didn't look for that yet Stan. When I go for lunch I will go and get try your replacement trick. If that works we know that we are chasing a leak. Not sure if you can buy the special leakage fluid here (they used on a car I had in Holland years ago) but will try. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Stan, I owe you a few drinks if we ever get a chance to meet !! Vented the system, refilled it and it is doing fine now. So we have a tiny leak (takes a year for the system to loose its coolant).
