HI JOE90; thanks for the drawing, hopefully as you say, it should remove all doubt. i doubt there is anything i can check on it?, so assume it would need to go on diagnostic?

in the meantime i will get some prices for a new one. i hope it doesent cost as much as it looks like it might cost, Whistle Whistle Question Question Question

Try the battery disconnection / ECU clear routine first. .

HI JOE

i have carried out the battery disconnect etc and still the same. as a matter of interest, i removed the red twist plugs one at a time from the two dipped beam lamps ( one at a time ). just to see if one lamp was causing the problem with the rest Exclamation Exclamation , probably wishfull thinking, anyway all that happened was i got the usual fault chime and then the check dip lamp signal on the dash board..

so i have yet to look at the LCM

fyi, the outside lights are dual purpose...they are dip and main by using a shutter in front of the bulb....the inner lights are just for flashing and for main as well but they are not very bright.. ... - .- -.

hi stan, thanks for your reply;

so it is the little ones that has the shutter then Question . when the lights go out, i can hear a clunk noise when they come back on, so i assume that is the ballast thingy Question Question Question .

if indeed it turns out to be a fault with the LCM, can i just fit it or does it need to be programmed at the dealers Question Question
