Wife's 2007 vogue has the Nokia station, managed to get blue tooth to work with the code 2121 but with the iPhone no contacts are displayed. fullfatrr got me as far as the phone working any off the self products used by anyone to get the full package?

Check out Wiggs site, he does a postal upgrade for the Nokia Bluetooth module - mine paired ok but no contacts, now I can search for contacts from the screen!

out of curiosity what about the charging unit ? can it be ripped out and replaced with an iPhone charger in the top glove box ?

There is a software update that allows address book via bluetooth.
I upgraded the software on my 2007 Vogue SE the last time it was serviced and now it pairs autommtically and the address book/contacts list is shown.

I don't think there's a plug an play option, but someone did make one up from BMW parts.

It's really not worth the hassle - just get a USB cigarette lighter plug and a regular iPhone charging cable

Not really a guess - just a bit of work

The early L322 had a BMW based system and the BMW cradle bits could be made to work. The newer L322 had a LR proprietary cradle (which was offered for all of like 4 different phone types... ). Physically, the connector is the same as for the BMW cradle (called a snap in adapter) but it is in the wrong position and I have no idea if the pins have the same connections. BMW also has a separate holder for the snap in adapter called an eject box. As the snap in adapters are phone specific, if you switch phones you simple purchase a new snap in adapter and snap it into the eject box. On the RR the entire tray in the cubby lid is equivalent to the eject box.

The BMW cradles come for different usages: just for charging, for music, or for full multimedia (vid). What we did for a friends 2010 was purchase a BMW snap in adapter for his iPhone (charging only), took it apart and soldered the LR iPhone adapter cable to the connector in the snap in adapter. The other end of the connector cable was attached to the iPhone receptacle from behind ans the wire hidden in the console. Looked very OEM when we were done.

If you are just looking for charging capability, this is even easier to achieve - all you need is 12v and Gnd. If you can open the connector you now have in the car and the snap in adapter, you can trace the wires to see if the pins match. You may be able to use the oem connector to make the snap in adapter work just by repositioning it.
You can use double backed tape or self tappers to hold the snap in adapter in place.
