England 2014 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Loire Blue

Speaking from the point of view of somebody who worked at a LR main dealer for many years-
The "dealer" stamp isnt worth sh*t!, more corners are cut at main dealers than anywhere else i have ever worked Shocked .This was due to ridiculous "book times" of most jobs and mechanics bonus being paid only when they hit 100% efficiency or above!! This also includes making up warranty jobs so the dealer can hit targets, parts being charged but not fitted etc!! (one of the favourites when i was there was the rear main seal on a 300tdi, got about 8 hours to do this job and no way of checking to see if it had been done without completely stripping car again Rolling Eyes -needless to say, plenty got done on the last few days of the month!!)

As said above, take the car to a good indy and get it done Thumbs Up at least most arent working to impossible targets Banging Head and it will get done properly!

Buying a car without fsh doesn't bother me … its only stamps in a book !
If it drives nice and feels good it can still break down at anytime.I would rather get it seviced when I buy it then I know it's ok. All these people who go on about not having fsh don't have a clue

Then its time you expanded the business, and open centres in the rest of the UK to cover it Smile

Right. The car passed its MOT with a couple of advisories, but, and before I go back with all guns blazing, does anyone know how quickly newly changed oil turns black when you dip it?

I've just driven about 2 miles home and being the trusting(ahem) kinda guy I am, I thought I'd just check the colour of the newlly changed oil, only to find it's BLACK!

Not being used to diesels, can someone tell me of this is normal, or have the b'stards charged for an oil change that they haven't done? Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

For diesels, the oil will turn black almost instantly.

One (hicksville) way of testing your oil is to put a couple of drops into a glass of clean water. New oil (in spite of turning black) will still ball. Old oil will fragment and spread a lot more. My plan was idiot-proof ...

that oil could have gone black if there was still old oil in the system....it should be kinda sticky rather than watery. ... - .- -.

The drops from the dip stick just form little circles on the surface of the water.......... Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

I don't know where it is Stan, other than it's in the sump somewhere. I can't even see the filter to see if that's been changed. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
