2006 Range Rover Autobiography Supercharged Zambezi Silver
New Caravan Collection Date

Firmed up the collection date for our new van today...........due to drive down to Preston to pick it up on Friday 10th May, they put us up on a local site for two nights to iron out any issues before we head back to Scotland......nice wee run for the Supercharged....

Just wondering.....I've got the farmer's hitch type detachable towbar, it's currently set in the middle position, wonder if that will be right for our new van ?

Any caravanners out there with the Farmer's hitch as opposed the swan neck ???

The suppliers should be able to tell you the correct height.

My Ifor Williams flat bed trailer is the top height.

You might want to tow with the swan neck as the stabiliser hitch needs room right round the ball.

We are in out in our caravan just now and chilling out, total bliss Thumbs Up

Colin,

Currently have both types detachable and farmers hitch.
Using the farmers with a bike rack at the same time this is on the top setting as this gives the same height as the detachable tow bar.
Van sits nice and level and have had no problems with the hitch articulating around the tow ball, new van has the aks 3004 stabiliser.

Thanks for the advice - I hadn't realised that the farmers hitch in the highest setting is the same height as the detachable one - I towed a van last year with the farmers hitch in the middle setting and I felt the van sat a bit low at the front......what bike rack is it you use - a Maxxraxx ? Stolen / Gone: 2006MY Supercharged LPG Autobiography - Zambezi Silver with Sand/Jet/Jet Oxford Leather.....

Using a witter zx79 I think is the model cost less £100. You will need a couple of spacer to bring this mount out to stop the upright post from fouling the bumper think I have 25mm on it but can check it tomorrow just need to load them and check that nothing fouls the jockey wheel post when turning. Found it quite difficult to hitch the van with the bikes on the rack of the new van (sterling eccles trekker se) compared to the older sterling we had so tend to hitch up then fit the bikes.
Going to north Berwick next weekend so hope the weather picks up enjoy your new van. Gone
