Classic...

Any fans of the older shape Classic Range Rover on here?

Always wanted one in the 90's when is was a kid. My Uncle had one back then that I thought was the collest car around.

A few on here have owned or still have them. Just a shame they rusted so quickly

Big fan! Had a 2-door as a loan car once and that was it. Utterly beguiled by them ever since.

Never owned one, though. Came close a few times. Still an itch that needs scratched. Si. <This is my name.

My dad had a few of them. The last one was the 4.2 LSE which he loved more than his kids and wife.
I'm now the same age he was when he had it. I feel the same about all my cars.

United Kingdom 2016 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Santorini Black

My old man had a Brown, A reg one A375 MKV i seem to remember with golden velour.

We got a lot of use out of it, had it for the best part of 13 years, was rusting at the end, the engine needed "fettling" to get through the MOT, but was generally a pretty decent car. Was prone to the old tin worm though. the lower boot skin had disappeared the front footwells had a lot of patches and it had done 98k according to the 100k max speedo. we were pretty sure it had done way more, closer to 198k

Nice car and pretty much as capable as a defender as the mechanicals are somewhat similar though based on a 100" chassis not 90 or 110.

It was pretty good to drive i seem to remember having had "loan" of it in my late teens a few times. I remember the old man picked it up and the first thing he did was take it out on the common land to the back of my nan's. Needless to say he got stuck and had to be retreived by tractor. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I had one of the first light metalic blue "in vogue" models. 1982 - Reg RYU 48Y.

And before that a terracotta 4 door, 1981, X reg.

Apart from a whining gearbox in the X reg that stayed the same all the time i owned it, no mechanical problems.
The X reg wasn't even rusty, but the "In Vogue" rusted spectacularly. You'd come out in the morning and find large sections of flaky rust on the floor underneth the car.

snap ! was my first 4 door & loved it !
Started off at age 18 with a 1972 2 door, no power steering, but loved it.
worked my way up with several vogues, had one of the early ones with the new interior eventually up to a "D" reg, then got fed up for no particular reason & went onto merc cars.

Overall, nothing beat the orignal 1972 with the low compression V8 - sounded amazing.

rust wise never had problems apart from the usual rear windows & a little on the tailgates.

Canada 2008 Range Rover HSE 4.4 V8 Java Black

Yes, absolutely a fan.

Seeing one was my first intro to Range (and Land) Rovers.

My 2008 ffrr is too expensive to smash about in the bush, so I looked around for a good, cheapClassic. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a cheap one that wasn't a nightmare, so I got a D1 for the bush. Still love the original RR. Very Happy
