Sadly it cost more than I originally budgeted for but that's the way of things. It gets good reviews so I am looking forward to getting it out on the road once the weather improves a bit. Still plugging away on the old steel frame and it's a slog, bought some new tyres for it and a cheap set of clipless pedals so that I can wear the same shoes on both bikes. Also bought a Garmin and will monitor my progress online, I might even try and win some of the sections on Strava Whistle

Frightening sums of money KP...Just as long as I don't put up the price then SWMBO will never know the truth Laughing Laughing Laughing

I have a few bikes and if you're a lot taller then me I have a lovely vintage Peugeot which has done less than 100 miles that could get you back on the road. Will not be too expensive Whistle Whistle Whistle

Something a little different

1946 Humber Sports...cost new in 1946 was £15/10/7d which was a lot of money back then

I must admit the Humber is a peach of a bike for 67 years old, it shows a lovely patina and is all original except tyres and a change of saddle which aunty did many years ago.
Unusual for 1946 this bicycle has cable operated brakes. Other 1946 Humber bikes I have seen are still on rods.
When I first recieved this bike I used to take my dog for a run, me on the bike and him running along beside me

I bought a pair of Shimano 105 pedals for the Focus and a £21.99 set of Shimano R540s for the Peugeot so that I can keep the same shoes, two new Continental Gator tyres were fitted to the Peugeot and it is now back on the road as well as the turbo trainer

Just back from today's cycle and decided to take a couple of pictures of the bikes

It's a big bike, 24" frame from centre of the BB to the centre of the seatpost.

It will be way too big for you then, I'm a 30 inside leg and I don't ride it because it's too big

Here's a link for a 2010 Focus Cayo for sale, mine is a 2012 model with a couple of nice upgrades Whistle Click

My aunt bought the Humber new and about 15 years ago decided to leave it out for the bin men, so I stepped in and rescued it Thumbs Up

Think I'll hold out a little longer until NYC and spend some extra on the 2.0 as the yank prices are so cheap compared to here Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Getting silly now. Went to a bike jumble last week and bought a box of bits. Inside the box was a frame fitted with forks and a gubbed headset, 2 new rims, 2 used Mavic 500 hubs, a bundle of crap spokes, Campagnolo brakes, Campagnolo front and rear derailleurs, a cheap chainset, Cinelli stem, Campagnolo seatpost, cheap saddle, 3TTT handlebars and a few other bits and bobs. So I have been sorting it all out.

The bike is an Italian ALAN Super Record aluminium from 1980. I've had the wheels built but need a new 7 speed freewheel which is not so easy to find at the right price, I bought a used Campagnolo Super Record rear derailleur from Norway so waiting on that arriving as the one supplied is fu-bared. I managed to screw the derailleur up and lock it in second top gear yesterday and take the bike for a quick spin.

I also spent a bit of time cleaning the black Peugeot ready to sell, it's far too big for me and I've had it long enough so it's time to move it on

Where do you find out about these bike jumbles?!

The insurance replacement has arrived Sad

Its so bright silver I do feel like a pimp on it
However it rides very well with only the tyres and front lockout letting it down.

The front tyres are road tyres for sure and not mtb ones.
The lockout is super annoying! The old one would let me lockout in any position, so while I was riding. This one refuses to expect when the suspension is at full hieght! So means I need to stop or lift te front wheel while moving to do it.

The tyres are great on the road so I'm thinking of keeping it now.

I'm on the lookout for another set of rims for it with or without discs on so I can have an mtb set and an on road set to mike life easier for me and go tubeless as well on them as its quick to do Smile

Just finding some at a non silly price isn't too easy. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
