I've seriously thought about it, get a cheap frame setup or one on offer sometime, then i can cycle and watch the playbook in the back of the house or upstairs without getting wet and save the wetness for Micks dirt track instead Wink

I'm seriously missing my bike now Big Cry

Anyone coming back from the states soon want to bring one back with them for me pretty please Smile

Any mainland US state visit is allowable Very Happy FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Went out on the road today for the first time in over 20 years, did an easy 20 miles so might go a bit further tomorrow. Only problem is I don't know who's arse I'm sitting on as it certainly doesn't feel like mine Shocked Laughing Laughing

Life's a bitch when you don't have a bike, and here's me with a nice Bottecchia carbon frame road bike to try out. I must say that it's the first time I've tried carbon and it's the dogs dangly bits. Might have to invest in one if I get a bit more serious about this cycling caper

I'd love a carbon MTB but they just aren't able to take the knocks from what some pro's have said.

They are thinking that carbon/metal mix may be good though.

I like my hard tails and always have since full sus came out, but then again maybe i'll convert in a few years with a remote lockout for the rear when the weight comes down a bit FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Just back from a week in the sun and managed to clock up 140 miles on the carbon Bottecchia road bike. Daughter who stays in the highlands was with us and as she is doing a 100 mile cycle later this year she was wanting to get a little tuition and training in.

This was the carbon bike

and my daughter hired an aluminium framed bike

Really enjoyed being back on the road and the carbon bike is fantastic, now it's back to the Pug on the turbo trainer and try and get a bit more strength in my legs, saying that my daughter couldn't keep up with me so we did a lot of work on her sprints and hill climbing and a marked improvement on her part from a week earlier.

Had a look on the bay of flees, carbon is still expensive Big Cry Big Cry

Better with a good second hand alu frame than a cheap Chinese carbon frame...

Managed to bag a bit of a bargain yesterday. The vendor bought it new in August 2012 and it has covered 348 miles, he didn't have a clue as to how to adjust the gears and brakes so it felt like a pile of crap, (good for me, bad for him) he said the gears were never right and it was back in the shop numerous times to no avail so he was sick of it and was going down the route of a hybrid. He upgraded the seat post and saddle which cost a a few bob so I am more than happy. A morning spent giving it a good service, degreasing the chain, (wtf he had grease on the chain for I don't know) cleaning and adjusting the rear brake, setting up the rear derailleur and cleaning and adjusting the front derailleur properly and it's perfect...
