distiguishable , i think not

saw an irish plated tata on the m4 today and didnt realise it was one until it was along side me when i noticed the side fins on the door...it just didnt look like a range rover in my mirror but, i did notice the fullfats coming up behind because of their shape and stance.. need i say more... ... - .- -.

On their own or in pics they look OK, but once in a line up with other 4x4s and other Land Rover products they just blend in.

I noticed this when I went in for my test drive, wasn't unti I got right up to the vehicle I realised what it was... and it was parked next to a Sport. Sad

I thought I saw one in the supermarket car park the other day, until I got close enough, 'twas a Sport....... Rolling Eyes .

Same for me twice last week.

Looks like a mix between a sport/evoque.

I prefer definetly the rear of the L322.

The vents looks like sh**t and I need to get use to the front end.

I think I liked the L322 because it was an evocation of the classic. Same with the BMW mini, the new beatle and the fiat 500. Now they just look like an evocation of the evocation especially the mini spinoffs.

Well, Clarkson reckons they've not made it offensive. Indeed, very true. It's very non-descript, and that's the issue I have. When it's coming up behind you it doesn't say "Range Rover", more like "Oh, what's that then?"

It will grow on me but I'm thinking about feelings past. When P38 came out to replace Classic I was OK with that. A bit "Metrocab" but otherwise good.

So then when L322 came out it was more "WOW now that's better", I really wanted one pretty much instantly.

L405 though, it's all a bit "Meh" at the moment. Plenty will want one as it's the latest thing but plenty more will look at it and just move along I reckon. Mind you, UK sales are of no consequence, it's China and Russia that LR care about. They'll sell plenty over there for sure.

Yes, that's the bottom line.
Land Rover are a business.
They will sell so many in China that what we think is of little consequence.
Given the choice between keeping enthusiasts happy and earning a sh**load of money, the people in charge will go for the latter.

I have decided not to buy having seen it in the metal and driven it because it just feels like a big luxury car now.
I was underwhelmed.

It sounds like most of us will be keeping the L322 residuals up for years to come before venturing over to the L045 Smile I plan to stay with the L322 for as long as I can. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Want it to do well though to lower L322 prices though... Rolling Eyes

Interesting as the problem with the Q7 is its too long and bulky reminds me of a canal barge. I worry the L405 may have the same effect. The L322 is "Elegant" and very well "Poised"....

maybe after we've seen the yogurt range rover [sour milk as opposed to fullfat] on the road a bit more it might become more recognisable but i have my doubts. ... - .- -.

The distinctive Range Rover proportions have certainly been lost in the new car - by making it sleeker in profile with the tapering windows and sloping roof it looks far more like, say, a Q7. The tall glasshouse and uprightness were part of what made a Range Rover a Range Rover.

Still, they won't care in China.
