When I lifted the cover and looked at the rubber band conversion I thought I should really have a closer look to see what I had done as I knew someone would ask...Well guess what I never took a closer look so now I will need to go and take a few better pictures and have a good look |

Nice John, so you too used what you had to hand at the time (for me it was cable ties, my apologies for that ) I also tried a bungie clip but that looked crap .

What a lucky find in my garage... No idea where I picked it up originally, but sure glad I never chuck stuff like this out.

Sorry, just out of curiosity, what are the two straps hanging over the jack that seem to go down into the spare wheel well? I don't have them on my car but can see two possible locating holes for their fitment. They're not to help get the spare wheel out of the well are they? Steve

Ah right, are they an optional accessory then ? ( I've had to take the wheel out a few times over the years and it is pretty akward to remove by just lifting it out, due to the tailgate . I've even also removed everything , shut the tailgate , then reached down and stood the wheel on end , then opened the tailgate again, which is a bit easier). Sorry , don't mean to hijack the thread! Steve
