Andy, I just went through the same thing from what I detect. Coolant level warning came on and then, thinking I would be okay for a day or two , kept driving. Then all of a sudden, heard a gurgling sound so pulled over straight away. Turns out my thermostat was blocked which resulted in the pressure building up and cracking the reservoir. The local mechanic expalined that after 7 years of hard plastic cooling/heating/cooling this will happen. $500 later a new themrostat and reservoir. Now: 2003 Epsom Green HSE

Unless this is spelled out in their terms of agreement, the non oem rad is BS. Find a solicitor. I've seen oils, coolant, etc excluded before, though I think warranty co's are not doing themselves a favor with terms such as these: I can't imagine that, after having to drop several hundred on a radiator, 1000+ on a steering rack, or several thousand on a transmission, their balance is going to look much better due to saving a couple of quid on fluids. And their reputations will have suffered quite a bit - they need to put that on the books as well.
