Great technical post with some great pics Thumbs Up . Only thing to add would have been about mixing different colour coolants. Not a big thing but some newer members might not be aware that mixing the colours could cause sludge build up and add to gearbox issues etc. [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

Many thanks for the kind responses - just hope it helps out is all....

Yes maybe a note that you shouldn't mix the coolant types is a good idea....just thought it was self-explanitory....but good call.

Good Job Saint!

Very thourough with the pictures.

On a small note on what you did. When I did mine I didnt have the facility to make the tool you made, I had a the 36 ml ? spanner but could not get the fan to come off.

I didnt dare hammer due to unforseen damage, I did manage to change the rad by taking everything else out and lent the rest towards the engine and slid the rad in. I did do what you did with the cardboard but when i was dropping it down.

Just in case someone else couldnt get the nut of the VFan

To add to what trist said I had issues the first time and damaged the seals in he water pump. Best way I found was to use flexable strap wrench similar to this http://www.tooled-up.com/product/boa-soft-...tAodVRUABA and sacrifice the belt to get it on. The belt was due a change anyway and it was only a few £££. Would have saved me a good few £££ had I done that first time. [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]
