steering rack knackjered yay

oh well i stripped down all what i had to today to replace the inner and outer track rod ends / joints
we attempted to remove the inner joint from the end of the rack and as soon as we put pressure on the end it was moving in the rack sooo i.e were the innerds of the rack the bit thats move left to right by the pinnion has a whole lot of top to bottom movement but its not leaking so i guess its a new steering rack jobbie as it shouldnt have any movement at all but seeing as its not leaking im gonna see how long i can get out of it then just stick a new one on as i dont like refurbed or exchanged units im still very happy with the car tho as its given me sterling service over the years so i think she deserves a few more years in the speedy household Thumbs Up onto no6 Range Rover
