I am surprised they recommended a new roof lining. Mine has only just started to come loose (by a couple of millimetres) and was going to use good old araldite to fix it if it got worse.

I'm not certain but I think it's because in order to get the headlining down to fix the broken clips etc it would probably result in more clips being broken and it just ending up a bit battered/dirty and not worth saving.

If it looks nicer I don't care what they do. Discovery 4 HSE

you mentioned in your original post that there is a LTB for the seat squab. Mine is doing the same but I haven't bothered with it yet as i might be changing the car in a few months depending on how well the D4 drives and how much i can get for my FFRR. If you have more details can you let me know

I had a black headliner on an E60 BMW. Nice, but the novelty wore off pretty quickly - made the cabin feel too cramped for me. Hid a multitude of sins mind!

I've had 2 BMW E39's with the full black interior and I loved it. My wifes 330D MSport has it too, I like the enclosed feel of it, especially with privacy glass. Discovery 4 HSE

My BMW Coupe's all had black interiors (from red E30 318is, Navy E30 325i, Dolphin E30 325is, TechnoViolet E36 328i, Black E46 330ci etc)

Never any heel prints though

The old joke about hedgehogs and BMW's springs to mind...

They are still streets ahead in terms of RWD engineering though...

And let's face it, probably the best thing to happen to the Range Rover Discovery 4 HSE
