Does anyone know which kind of polish a detailer uses?

As per above I'm really curious to know what kind of polish detailers use? My FFRR normally lives outside but I'm shortly having a new wooden garage put up with plenty of room for the FFRR & would like to give the old girl a real spruce up from time to time. I might even spruce the FFRR too lol Whistle

@Googsy (yes, both of you)

STOP posting with a F***ing Lemming-PAD and the double posts will stop. Laughing Laughing

Erm polishes. Plenty available, mostly intended to be used with a machine because the process is energy intensive. Doing it by hand gives a healthy dose of repetetive strain injury before the first of the front wings is done.

Menzerna, Meguiars and Poorboys are all excellent but if you use hand application you won't see any differences. You NEED a machine and most people will recommend (as a beginner) that a dual-action type is the thing to go for. The foam pads you select to complement the polishes will be specific to the machine type. Those for a DA machine are more aggressive than the ones for rotary. This is where is all gets a bit contentious.

As Googsy mentioned (twice) go have a day reading stuff on detailingworld.co.uk and form your own opinions.

One thing is for sure though. The chaps at polished Bliss are more than helpful and will point you in the right direction. They did for me and I never go anywhere else now.

Excellent advice as usual guys. I've always been keen on polishing my cars but the FFRR has so many swirl marks that I know I need something along the pro lines.

I've spotted an Autoglym Paint Pro plus kit on the bay of fleas for £95 Very Happy Me thinks I know where my xmas money from my mother in law will be going. I simply love spending a weekend polishing & fettling my cars, yes I do need to get out more Yawn

The £50 one does not include the polishing machine itself. I used to own one of these machines but I only ever used it for burnishing after resprays & sold it a while ago Big Cry The reason women's minds are cleaner than a mans mind is that women change their minds more often!

Ps the detailed I know and the only one I recommend, uses autoglym SRP and that's it.

I've heard others use dodo juice as I have their purple haze one that I fancy trying on the ff at some point but I'm holding off on it until resale time Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
