United Kingdom 2009 Range Rover SE TDV8 Stornoway Grey

Just wondering if that set-up would double up as a hands free phone kit if you were using an iPhone? 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

yes but depending on you version of generation of iPhone,it would talk via the car standard blue tooth and override the mp3 output as normal, you would need a charge adapter wired in after a gen 1 iphone as they change from 12 volt to 5 volt there on,

look at the site for info

2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Buckingham Blue

So I decided to do something similar this weekend as my CD autochanger is up the swanny. Was pretty easy to strip the dash apart from getting the face vent out which was a swine.

Lo and behold I have the 10 pin connector at the rear of the CD Evil or Very Mad Sad Put everything back together, but without screwing the CD player in so I can get at the wires easily.

Anyone know where I can get the connectors to re pin rather than hack what I have?

Rather order off the net as don't know any breakers. Which BMW would they come off?

Cheers

So, last night I looked at my 10 pin plug and my 3/6 pin sockets and did a bit of delving. Looking at the wire colours and the circuit diagram I came up with the following table for moving the pins. Moving the pins was easy enough. Lift up the little flap holding them in place, press down on the pin and gently pull.

Moving from 10 pin to 3/ 6 pin (A is 3 pin plug, B is 6 pin plug)

1 goes to B4
2 goes to B2
3 goes to A1
4 is not used
5 goes to A3
6 goes to B1
7,8&9 are not used
10 goes to A2

Moving from 3/ 6 pin (A is 3 pin plug, B is 6 pin plug) to 10 pin
A1 goes to 3
A2 goes to 10
A3 goes to 5
B1 goes to 6
B2 goes to 2
B3 not used
B4 goes to 1
B5 & B6 are not used.

Using the ten pin socket off my knackered CD changer I repined the Dice iPod connecter 3/6 pin socket.

Plugged it in and now have iPhone through the head unit. Even has track/album/artist on the display below instruments.
Just waiting for the eject box and snap in to tidy it all nicely into the cubby box lid.
Trying to navigate the iPhone using the head unit is a bit gash though, a lot easier to use the iPhone

Chaps,

Sorry if I'm being thick, but to connect the ipod I need the intravee 2 and what else?

To play MP3 CD's I understand that I also need the Apline MP3 CD player? (Would it be better to go for the DVD player instead as presumably it'll play MP3 as well as DVD)

Does this need the Mk4 Sat Nave upgrade to work?

you need the alpine KCA-420i unit which lets you do everything in the menu on the dash via the Intravee II,

remember versions 1 will charge, any newer need the 5 volt adpater inline

cheers

Thanks.

Does it just read from the ipod or will it read USB mass storage?

Hi Intravee II cannot support a USB drive currently, I have just got a beta firmware which folds my mirror when I take the key out and opens them when the key is put back in!, heaps of other extras coming soon too, so can only recommend it.

here is a really good link for the installation in my rangey
