Pricing Madness

Thought it was time to treat the old girl to a set of plugs - I've done nearly 50k in the 14 months since I got the car, and I don't suppose the plugs were new then.

Nipped into Halfords on the way home - gulp - £20 each....

Ordered online last night from a major supplier of cheap car parts - £2.49 each for the same NGK plugs. Arrived this morning.

Now just waiting for a bit of dry weather to bung them in - any tips or gotcha's before I start?

Cheers.

I did think I'd warm it up a little first - just to stop my pinkies sticking to the metal.

Given your mileage, shouldn't you have a diesel? Laughing

Probably.

But I do mostly long runs - it's 80 A-road and motorway miles to work and still average 20 mpg. A V8 sounds nicer, goes better and is cheaper to buy - so the saving in purchase costs alone will buy a lot of extra fuel!

I did wonder about that - are you being serious? They are twin cathode plugs.

One that looks like this:

All fitted now, and the intermittent misfire that I got when applying a little throttle at low revs has gone.

Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Mr. Green
